About this role

Provide exceptional customer service in a safe and clean environment to ensure the customer's return visit. Treat customers and employees in a fair and ethical manner, promoting an inclusive work environment. Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards and to customer’s requests using proper equipment like espresso machine, blender, computerized scale and steamer. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items and inform them of coffee shop specials. Provide customers with fresh products and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.

Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products. Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company and store goals. Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department to respond to questions and make suggestions.

Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and adhere to all food safety regulations. Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify management of issues. Requirements

Excellent customer service skills
Any previous comparable experience
Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment
Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary
Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults
Must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Responsibilities

Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated by answering questions regarding products
Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards and to customer’s requests using proper equipment
Offer product samples to help customers discover new items and inform customers of coffee shop specials
Recommend coffee shop items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need
Check product quality to ensure freshness and review “sell by” dates and take appropriate action
Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions
Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment and notify management of repairs needed
