About this role
Join our team and help bring great coffee to life. As a Production Technician – Roasting, you’ll operate roasting equipment and support the process that transforms green coffee into the roasted coffee enjoyed by customers every day. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with coffee and takes pride in quality.
You’ll work 2nd shift with hours varying between 2pm-11pm and 3:30pm-midnight, Monday-Friday, in a fast-paced production environment. Monitor roast profiles, batch quality, and control points to ensure consistency and adherence to Peet’s standards. Follow all food safety and workplace safety standards including GMPs and sanitation.
Work closely with a team to meet production targets while maintaining product quality and safety. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary roasting workstation. Identify and communicate equipment issues, quality concerns, or safety risks to supervisors or maintenance teams.
Support onboarding and training of team members on roasting processes and best practices. Continuously develop roasting and technical skills through training. Maintain flexibility to support production needs including overtime or weekend work as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- At least 1 year of production experience as a machine technician or in operations leadership
- At least 1 year of formal training in the coffee industry (preferred)
- Ability to monitor roast profiles and batch quality for consistency
- Knowledge of food safety standards, GMPs, and sanitation procedures
- Mechanical aptitude to identify equipment issues
- Flexibility for 2nd shift, overtime, or weekend work
Responsibilities

- Complete required production documentation and quality checks for roasting operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary roasting workstation and production environment
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to meet production targets while maintaining product quality and safety
- Identify and communicate equipment issues, quality concerns, or safety risks to supervisors or maintenance teams
- Support onboarding and training of team members and temporary staff on roasting processes and best practices
