About this role

To roast the industry’s finest coffee through the development of sound roasting and grinding skills and techniques. This mission is achieved through craft roasting, maintaining package integrity, daily quality assurance exercises, and machine maintenance. Production Technicians process coffee as the production schedule demands.

As a Production Technician for roasting and grinding, ensure the assigned workstation operates within workplace safety and food safety standards set by Peet’s Coffee and regulatory agencies. Complete all Quality Control Point monitoring tasks according to procedures and submit quality assurance records. Submit all production records required for the workstation.

Make every effort to increase productivity and efficiency without compromising team safety or product quality. Communicate issues pertinent to production performance, quality, or workplace safety to the Production Supervisor. Report equipment faults or failures directly to the Engineering Department for repair or maintenance.

Maintain established standards of cleanliness and sanitation for the workstation and facility. Demonstrate full understanding of Food Safety programs like GMPs, SSOPs, and Adverse Health Policy, plus Workplace Safety policies. Participate in training new Team Members and workstation development to strengthen craft-level skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent with at least 1 year of production experience as machine technician or operations leadership
  • At least 1 year of formal training in the coffee industry
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
  • Perform work in a timely and professional manner
  • Ability to adjust and adapt to change while staying focused on deliverables
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and results-driven
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; reliable and punctual
